Ogden • After several days of rain and rapid snowmelt, officials monitoring Northern Utah reservoirs and dams say they see no immediate danger of flooding.
Utah Department of Natural Resources official Josh Palmer tells The Standard-Examiner that reservoirs are averaging about half-full, which is above normal for this time of year.
Department assistant engineer David Marble says dams in Cache and Box Elder counties are being closely watched. But he says officials are reporting no issues.
At Pineview Reservoir, water system manager Ben Quick says the lake is about 68 percent full.
Palmer says drought isn't over. But he says rivers should see rising water levels, and ultimately the Great Salt Lake.
The state official says the lake surface level last month was only one foot above the record low set in 1963.
